The hallway doors have no numbers painted on them.

We tell you which one when you call. Carpet runner, a cable along the skirting, the end window burning a bit into the gum leaves.

Street side

The linen still creases at the corner after we pull the sheet.

Garden window

A narrower room. The chair is where the towels sit.

A glass of water on the sill. Daylight from the gum tree blows the middle of the pane a little. If you have a jacket, that’s the chair. We often give this one for a single night when 16 still has a bed free.
